It’s not as easy to bruise yourself running into a wood frame than an iron one; in addition, wooden frames are also lighter and more gentle on your floors. Wooden bed frames don’t hurt quite as much when you run into them, so you may want to consider them if you bump your bed a lot.

When you go out to shop for canopy bed frames, keep the height of the canopy in mind. Everyone has a different opinion when it comes to how tall their canopy should be; in addition, the height of your ceiling will have to factor into that, as well. Some people want a canopy to be as high up as it will go. Others want the intimacy of sleeping in a canopy bed with a much lower canopy. When a canopy bed is too low, I really don’t like it. When there is an insufficient amount of air able to get inside the bed, temperatures can become unbearable. Some people are alright with it, but too me it is claustrophobic.
